This is my personal timetable. You may find it useful if you're in the same group as me, group B :-) Heather announced the groups on First Clarse.

 

Also, Peter Schimke has done a wonderful job collating all this into a timetable spreadsheet for Group B which he posted on First Clarse.

 

The information below is collated from the "Unit Inf" documents found in each section of BONE; the Standard Pathway M.Ost Course Information 2008-9 which is part of the Registry section of BONE including the Standard Pathway Year 3 Autumn term timetables

Osteopathic Concepts in a Clinical Setting 15 level 6 credits.

 

  • Appears to have no sub-divisions.
  • Assessment summary: appears to be un-assesssed.
  • Activity summary: very unclear -- no "unit inf" or "mod inf" documents on BONEr as of 4th September 2009.

 

 

Osteopathic Practice 45 level 6 credits.

 

Assessment summary:

  • Minimum attendance of 90% of Osteopathic Practice units.
  • Formative:
    • Peer review during patient presentations.
    • Two clinic tutor reports.
    • Patient management problem (PMP) exam.
  • Summative:
    • OSCE (objective structured clinical examination) - 25%
    • Patient management problem (PMP) exam - 25%
    • 2.5 hour written exam - 35%
    • Clinic tutor report - 15%

    • According to the Fiona Hendry's lecture on 15th Sept, there will be a formative assessment at the end of Term 1, and practice questions will be available.
  • Summative:
    • 2 hour written paper on Orthopaedics and Rheumatology - 30%.
    • 2 hour case-based written paper covering NMS and Neurology - 70%.

IMS catch-up tutorials

 

The IMS team feel that the number of hours available to the Mixed Moders for IMS practical work last year was not enough, and have negotiated some extra time with the faculty. This will be on Thursday 1st October, in room 4.16 in the following groups:

 

E&F = 9:30am - 10:30am

A&B = 10:30am - 11:30am

C&D = 11:30am - 12:30pm

 

These are voluntary sessions.

 

ASSESSMENTS PER SUBJECT (see front page for assessments listed in date order)

 

CAE:

  1. Find a tutor who will supervise your dissertation.
    • This isn't an assessment, but must be done ASAP in order to prepare for subsquent assessments.
    • There is a spreadsheet on BONEr showing available tutors, and their specialist subject areas (as well as showing tutors who are not available).
  2. Research question "project outline form" completion.
    • This isn't an assessment, but must be done by 16th October in preparation for subsequent assessments.
    • Fill in the "Project Outline Form" on BONEr.
  3. Literature review:
  4. Research proposal and ethics form:
    • Due date: March 2010.
    • Summative.
    • 60% of overall grade.
    • 3-5000 words.
