Term 1, week 1, 14-18 Sept:

Various admin bits and bobs: 

• You may be a "Mum or Dad" (god that's irritating) to a 2nd year. There is a piece of paper pinned to the noticeboard near the locker room, I haven't seen any electronic communication about this.
• Registration for this year
  • Email on 1st Clarse in "3rd yr notices."  Some forms to fill in as well - see the email (Bedford registration doc; notes for completing the Bedford form; emergency contact form).
  • Groups ABC at 11:30am - 12:30pm on Thurs 17th Sept 2009 in Room 3.10
  • Groups DEF at 12:30pm - 1:30pm on Thurs 17th Sept 2009 in Room 3.10
• After registration, you'll be given instructions on how to register with "e-Vision", the University of Bedford's e-learning website. Here's the basics:
  • Go to http://beds.ac.uk/sits
  • Your username is the 7 digit ID number on your Uni of Beds ID card, 06xxxxx
  • Your password is your 6 digit date of birth, e.g. 010271
• According to an email from Fran Wiggins on First Clarse, we will be accompanied by 2nd year "buddies" in clinic on Mondays and Fridays. All the details are in that email, including the buddy list.

CAE:

• ASAP: Find a tutor to supervise your dissertation. There's a spreadsheet on BONEr showing available tutors.
• ASAP: Make an appointment to discuss your plans, with one of: Melanie; Kevin Brownhill; Paul Blanchard; Hilary Abbey; or Tamar Pincus. The CAE noticeboards are on the 3rd floor; turn right through the double doors before you get to the library.

Clinic: 

• The clinic rotas have been announced on First Clarse for the Autumn Term (term 1). The same info is on BONEr too. Some lucky people have been assigned to specialist clinics, but not all of us -- there's a spreadsheet that details week 1 - 4. Presumably, those people who are assigned to a clinic will remain in that clinic for 4 weeks. Those who are not assigned may be assigned later??
