Email to Fiona Hendry, Nick Salway, Andy Lay, Heather:
There are some differences between the timetable spreadsheet that Heather has compiled, and the handout we received in the lecture this morning. Here is where they differ:
According to the original communication, we had the following NMS lectures scheduled:
Week 8: (I think this was blank)
Week 9: Myofascial Skeletal & Neural Pelvic Function lecture; tutorial on SIJ dysfunction case histories.
Week 10: was "TBC"
Week 11: was "TBC"
Week 12: was blank
Now, according to the handout in the lecture this morning, we have the following:
Week 8: Myofascial Skeletal & Neural Pelvic Function
Week 9: Hip dysfunction
Week 10: Hip - an approach to O/A
Week 11: Small group seminars
Week 12: Formative assessment
Can you confirm the handout is the correct and up-to-date version? Also, will the SIJ case histories still be part of the timetable?

From Fiona:
The timetable handed out today is the actual one for the term, I think Heather had copied in last years timetable rather than this amended version. My apologies for any confusion - I will make sure this version is available on BONE.

Email to Bex Morrison regarding the pathophysiology lectures:
Some questions have arisen:
1. Is this material assessed?
2. Is there any preparatory material that we should read?
3. Will there be material on BONE, handouts in the class, or any other materials?
Finally, some of the ex-Mixed Moders have asked me to point out that they have child-care responsibilities, and some also have part-time jobs. It's going to be difficult for some of them to re-arrange, particularly since that empty Monday afternoon was prime revision/consolidation time. Any words of advice for these folks?

1. Is this material assessed? Yes it is assessed. It is part of your OP unit - looking at pathophysiology of the GIT, Gynea, CVS Resp and endocrinology. It makes up your big academic exam in the summer.
2. Is there any preparatory material that we should read? I don't think so. Enda is looking at the best way to present this course.
3. Will there be material on BONE, handouts in the class, or any other materials? Yes Enda will be posting appropriate material on BONE.
Finally... Any words of advice for people with childcare and jobs?
Not really. Unfortunately, due to powers even beyond my control, it has taken time to recruit to this post hence the lateness of the timetable. It is unfortunate but as it stands, we have had difficulties fitting it in the timetable and Enda's work schedule. Again, it comes back to the problem of having "part time"faculty but the strength of that is they are osteopaths and the course is delivered with osteopathic case studies, helping you with the osteopathic evaluation.
I hope this helps. Get back to me if there are any other problems or issues.
Regards,
Bex

Email to Sharon Potter regarding pathophysiology lectures and clinic DCP tutorials:
The clinic tutors have asked me to contact you on behalf of the 3rd year students.
The students who are in external clinics cannot attend the regular clinic tutorial slots on Wednesdays at 11am and Fridays at 11am. They have made arrangements with the clinic tutors to have catch-up sessions, which unfortunately clash with the times of Enda's pathophysiology lectures.
I'm on clinic team 4, so Barbara Judge is my team leader, and she suggested that the affected students ask their reps to take this issue to you. Presumably the other clinic teams are also following this route.
Specifically, the students on Wednesdays can't attend the DCP lectures, and are making up the time on Mondays with other groups.
Can you advise on what can be done?
Many thanks!
Austin
